![]() The Wi.232EUR-R (868-870MHz) embedded module combines a state-of-the art low power wireless transceiver with a powerful multipoint to multipoint, point to point or point to multipoint protocol controller to form a transparent wireless communications solution capable of most wire replacement in RS232/422/485 applications. With a 120dB link budget and very low power operation modes, the Wi.232EUR-R module is excellent for Automatic meter reading (AMR), medical, oil and gas, wireless sensing, industrial controls and many more wire replacement applications. Typical range is up to 1600 feet line of sight with great battery life. The module is designed to be totally transparent and easy to use. No special addressing or formatting of data is required. Data is validated using an internally generated CRC-16 and encoded using a proprietary algorithm. Multiple modules can operate on the same channel because of the built-in carrier-sense-multiple-access (CSMA) protocol. The Wi.232EUR-R embedded transceiver module operates in two modes: narrowband and wideband. In narrowband mode, the transmitter output power is +12dBm and the maximum RF data is 38.4kbit/sec. In narrow band mode, there are two channels available. In wideband mode, the output power is +12dBm and the maximum data rate is 76.8kbit/sec. In wideband mode, the Wi.232EUR-R module is an excellent alternative to expensive power-hungry frequency hopping modules. With a +112 dB link budget at the highest data rate, the Wi.232EUR-R will perform better and faster than any module in its class. Other features are fast synchronization allowing long duty cycles and outstanding battery power performance due to not having to use frequency hopping. In wideband mode there are 6 channels. The Wi.232EUR-R is footprint compatible with its North American 900MHz brother, the Wi.232DTS-R, allowing for flexibility in two key markets. In addition, Radiotronix has other footprint compatible radio only modules that allow for deeper integration, cost reduction and ability to allow engineers to write their own protocol on a parallel path if desired, but not slowing product development. For fast development, the Wi.232EUR-EVM-R development module is available with matching antennas. |
