![]() The Wi.232DTSB-R™ module is a special version of our popular North American Wi.232DTS-R™ module but has been certified for operation under Brazil Anatel rules. The module operates on channels 902-907.5 and 915-928MHz. The module combines a state-of-the art low power wireless transceiver with a powerful multipoint-to-multipoint protocol controller to form a transparent wireless communication solution capable of replacing wires in any RS-232/422/485 application. With a 115dB link budget and very low power operating modes, the Wi.232DTSB-R™ module is excellent for AMR, RFID, Home Automation, and any other application requiring long range (line of site ranges of over 1M have been achieved) and long battery life . The module is designed to be totally transparent. No special addressing or formatting of data is required. Data is validated using an internally generated CRC-16 and encoded using a proprietary algorithm. Multiple modules can operate on the same channel because of the built-in carrier-sense-multiple-access (CSMA) protocol. The transceiver operates in two modes: low-power and DTS. In low-power mode, transmitter output power is 0dBm and the maximum data rate is 38.4kbit/sec and operates with 19 unique channels. In DTS mode, the output power is +12dBm and the maximum data rate is 152.34kbit/sec and operates with 51 unique channels. . The DTS mode takes advantage of the FCC Part 15 Digital Transmission System (DTS) rules. Under this provision, the transmitters can operate at a higher output power if the transmission bandwidth is at least 500kHz. This means the Wi.232DTSB-R can achieve +12 dBm out put power without having to use frequency hopping or direct sequence spreading techniques. This translates to fast synchronization times allowing longer duty cycles, simpler RF protocol and longer battery life for portable applications. In DTS mode, the Wi.232DTSB-R™ module is an excellent alternative to frequency hopping modules. With 114dB link margin at the highest data rate, the Wi.232DTSB-R™ will work farther and faster than any module in its class. The Wi.232DTSB-R™ has a sister footprint compatible module the (Europe) Wi.232EUR-R™ which operates at 868-870MHz to address European applications and the Wi.232DTS-R™ which is the 902-928MHz North American version. Additionally, Radiotronix offers footprint compatible "radio only" versions, the Wi.M900X-R™ and Wi.M868X-R™ that allow the customer a design development path to a lower cost radio module and also the ability to write his own communications protocol, but with the flexibility to go to production sooner with the Wi.232DTSB-R™ full protocol version. A full line of certified antennas are available to support FCC certification. |
