A 2-wire bus has 2 control lines to access a number of slaves on the bus.
Bus buffers are used to increase the reach of a 2-wire bus or to support an increased number of devices connected to the bus. The buffer extends the bus load limit by buffering both the SCL (Clock) and SDA (Data) lines. A bus buffer can be used to create bus 'branches' and each branch can be enabled independently and can be brought on-line in a predetermined sequence. Following is a typical Bus Buffer application
