The Hydrogen is an extremely versatile and feature-rich single board computer based on the Marvell PXA270 processor. With an abundance of connectivity options, the Hydrogen can be used for a variety of applications including retail, access control, and player tracking. The Hydrogen has on-board connectivity for either a 1D or 2D barcode scanner for price checking and access control applications. An additional 2 serial ports are available to interface with a magnetic stripe or RFID reader. An on-board reed relay provides dry contact functionality for controlling door locks and turnstiles. The Hydrogen interfaces directly with a variety of 4.3" and 7" LCD displays with resolutions up to 800x600. In addition, 4 wire resistive touch screen support is available to provide a convenient user-interaction mechanism. Up to 10 general purpose I/O lines have been made available for additional device control/interaction. Other standard connectivity options such as USB2.0 Master/Slave, 10/100 Ethernet, and SD Card sockets are present for increased functionality.
The Hydrogen can be powered via a pluggable PoE Module, or with an external 12V power supply. For those looking for a complete solution, the Hydrogen single board computer is used in the Hydrogen 4.3" and Hydrogen 7" Power over Ethernet touch computers. As with all Boundary Devices products, custom versions are available with a small NRE charge. |
