Multi-Tech Systems Sponsors Inaugural M2M Evolution Conference at TMC’s ITExpo
New Event Helps Uncover Business Opportunities in Machine-to-Machine Technology
MINNEAPOLIS (August 27, 2009) - Multi-Tech Systems, a global manufacturer of award-winning embedded and external modems and Unified Communications products, signed on as the corporate sponsor of Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC®) first ever M2M Evolution Conference, taking place September 1, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
M2M Evolution, a joint venture between TMC and Crossfire Media, will provide education and networking opportunities on Machine-to-Machine communications. Whether the goal is tankers being tracked on the road, stationary sensors reporting remotely or mobile healthcare devices sending critical health data to medical professionals in real-time, the M2M communications market is exploding. This is an enterprise driven business with an estimated 38 billion devices benefiting from information networking. But this is also an opportunity for carriers to provide full services to a growing market (an estimated to be $300B next year).
The M2M conference includes sessions on M2M basics, track records and success stories, implementation and integration of M2M solutions, certifications, and smart grids and how they relate to the stimulus plan.
“Multi-Tech is excited to work with TMC as they launch this new venture to support the emerging machine-to machine (M2M) market. As a leader in the M2M market for 40 years, we recognize the significant value TMC’s events, publications, and websites bring to advancing the growth of industries such as M2M,” said Bill Chesney, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
M2M capability provides access to real-time data, allowing companies to monitor and manage assets from anywhere in the world, improving device functionality, enabling better and faster decision making, and providing an overall reduction in operating costs. As more and more companies understand the benefits of M2M, they will look to connect their machines and devices to cellular networks, providing a large growth opportunity in data communication needs.
“We are happy to have Multi-Tech on board as our strategic partner in M2M Evolution,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC’s CEO and Conference Chair. “They have established themselves as true industry leaders by providing valuable solutions. Similarly, we are confident that M2M Evolution at ITEXPO will quickly establish itself as the leading event in the machine-to-machine marketplace.”
