Wi-Sys Announces Two New High Sensitivity GPS Tracking and Timing Receivers, Launches the WS5012 Magnet-mount and WS5012-E Embedded Receiver + Antenna.
Ottawa, Canada. – June 30th, 2008 – Wi-Sys Communications Inc., a leading manufacturer of high performance Telematics antennas, GPS Receivers, RF modules, as well as Timing and Telematics solutions, today announced the WS5012 Magnet-mount and WS5012-E Embedded GPS Receiver + Antenna.

These Receivers feature the highly sensitive 16-channel, very quick time-to-fix STA8058 Teseo™ GPS Engine by STMicroelectronics, as well as a high performance active/filtered GPS antenna,” said Gyles Panther, President and CTO of Wi-Sys Communications. “With powerful functionalities, such as -159dBm tracking sensitivity, 39 second cold start, Flash memory to upload GPS Firmware, settings & history, 1PPS output and SBAS support, the WS5012 and WS5012-E GPS receivers are suitable for a wide range of Telematics and Timing applications.”
The WS5012 is housed in an industrial grade weatherproof enclosure, with USB or CMOS interface. The WS5012-E comes in a small OEM modular form with CMOS interface; custom tuned patch elements are available to OEMs to accommodate detuning effects caused by adjacent plastics etc.
